Destinations Career Academy Prom Blends Fun with Friendship 

At Destinations Career Academy of Colorado, students are known for their drive, focus, and commitment to career readiness. But on Friday, May 16, those same students took a break from certifications and coursework to celebrate another key part of high school life, prom. 

Held at the Riverwalk Clubhouse in Littleton, this year’s prom welcomed Destinations Career Academy of Colorado students from across the state. The event’s theme, “70’s Groovy,” set the stage for a festive, throwback atmosphere where students could relax, unwind, and just be teenagers for the night. 

Many Destinations Career Academy of Colorado students balance rigorous academic pathways in fields like health science, IT, business, and skilled trades. The opportunity to gather in person, with music, dancing, games, and a retro-themed photo booth, offered a fun counterbalance to their typical school day. For some, it was the first time they’d ever met their classmates and teachers face-to-face after years of connecting virtually. 

Destinations Career Academy of Colorado is built on the belief that career-focused learning doesn’t have to come at the expense of meaningful student experiences. Prom night was a prime example of that philosophy in action. Staff members and school leaders worked hard to ensure that students had access to a joyful, inclusive, and memorable event, one that many will cherish long after they leave the virtual classroom. 

The evening was filled with laughter, connection, and pride. Students came from towns and cities across Colorado, each bringing their unique story and energy to the dance floor. Whether they were new to Destinations Career Academy of Colorado or long-time students nearing graduation, everyone shared the excitement of being together, in person, for one of the final celebrations of their high school career. 

As the Class of 2025 prepared to walk across the graduation stage, this in-person prom was a reminder that no matter how different their paths may look, Destinations Career Academy of Colorado students are united by a shared journey, and ready to move boldly into the future.
