Should I enroll in a K12-powered school using my state of legal residence or my current duty station?
To enroll in a K12-powered school, please do so using the state you are currently physically residing in. You will have to show proof of residency, such as a utility bill or lease agreement.
What are the residency requirements to enroll at Destinations Career Academy of Colorado?
Living in Colorado: Families must provide current proof that the student and legal guardian reside in Colorado.
PCS orders INTO Colorado: Families must provide official Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders, or a command letter issued in place of the orders, showing assignment to a Colorado military installation. Qualifying families may begin enrollment before arriving and will be asked to provide additional residency documents after arrival.
Stationed outside Colorado or temporarily away for military service: Continued enrollment may be considered when documentation confirms that the family maintains a Colorado residence, such as a home, apartment, or condominium in the parent or legal guardian’s name and intends to return.
How do I transfer schools between states?
Simply fill out an application for the school you are looking to transfer to. We have an approved student transfer process and will contact you to complete the transfer. Find out what K12-powered schools are available in your new state.
Will my child have options to engage and socialize with other students?
With online engagement activities, including school art competitions, STEM events, student associations, and online clubs, K12-powered online extracurricular activities unite students as they unwind, have fun, and explore shared passions.
