WHAT IS THE STUDENT ADVISORY COUNCIL?
The Student Advisory Council is a select group of K12-powered students from around the country who serve as advisors for their peers as well as brand ambassadors for K12 and their schools. Through this paid internship opportunity, they provide valuable feedback and insight about their experiences with career readiness education.

I would like to be a commercial airline pilot and fly internationally. I have wanted to pursue this career since I was young, but it is risky. I would also be happy as a biomedical engineer.
Riley Melvin

Hobbies: Video games, photography, game design, 3D model design, 3D printing, computer programming.
My dream job would be to work as a computer programmer for a major company such as Microsoft, Google, or Apple. This is my dream job because I really enjoy working with computers. I would like to work at a larger company because the pay and hours would be better than at a smaller company.

Hello, my name is Isaiah Gutierrez. I am a junior at Colorado Destinations Career Academy (CODCA). I have been in this program my entire high school life and I love virtual learning because it allows me to be more independent. I have been interested in the Information Technology (IT) field and I am in the IT career pathway at CODCA. I love coding with software, and I was able to learn so much of it because my school has in-depth classes that explore programming languages. I have absolutely enjoyed C# coding and 3D modeling as I definitely plan on using this knowledge for college and a career in IT. I’m a student advisor because I get to learn how to work within a team in a virtual environment and gain a solid foundation for my future.

My name is Veronica Palmer, but I like to go by Vee. I’m a junior at Destinations Career Academy of Colorado. I am currently in the healthcare career pathway taking the CNA I course and will be CNA certified in May! I have been in online school for five years and I love that all of my classes and learning are conducted in an easy-to-follow place I can always access. I am the current president of my school’s HOSA chapter and am part of a student leadership team. I hope to become a nurse after high school, but right now I enjoy volunteering through my church, attempting to cook new foods, playing with my dog, and going camping in the summer!
